Home Made Teeth whitening

Personally I am very self conscious of my teeth. Years of drinking coffee and tea with little to no milk has taken its toll on my teeth, giving them a yellow tinge which- trust me -does not make for a nice photo.

To keep my teeth looking as sparkling as possible, I try many natural remedies to try and avoid using filters on my photos.

WHY

Why do teeth go yellow over time?

  • Drinking tea and coffee

  • Eating and drinking certain kinds of acidic and sugary foods like soft drinks, fast foods and even certain types of fruit.

  • Old age

  • Genetics

Here are 2 simple methods you can try at using.

Turmeric Teeth Whitening

Ingredient:

  • Organic turmeric powder

Method:

  1. Dip your wet toothbrush into 1/8 of a teaspoon of turmeric powder.

  2. Brush your teeth as normal but instead of rinsing leave the turmeric in your mouth for 3-5 minutes.

  3. After 5 minutes rinse your mouth as normal and then brush your teeth using your normal toothpaste. If you notice any yellow in the corners of your mouth or on your teeth and gums rinse with soap.

  4. Once the turmeric is fully rinsed, your teeth should look brighter and whiter.

Whiten Your Teeth with Baking Soda

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

  • few drops of lemon juice or water

Method:

  1. Mix the baking soda with a few drops of lemon juice or water in small cup and mix it until you have a paste. Apply to your teeth using a toothbrush or your fingers.

  2. Brush your teeth for one or two minutes, really concentrating on getting into all the cracks and crevices. Don't brush for any longer than 2 minutes as the baking soda may begin to erode the enamel on your teeth.

  3. Spit out the baking soda and wash out your mouth with water or mouth wash.

  4. Repeat this process every other day for two weeks to see a visible difference.
